On the eve of the Day of Belarusian Science at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University the grand opening of the new student research laboratory “Alliance” took place. It is equipped with modern equipment with the financial support of the President's special fund for social support of gifted learners and students. Previously, this laboratory was awarded grants from the special fund of the President three times: in 2003, 2010 and 2020.

The Student Reserch Laboratory “Alliance” was established as part of the Laboratory of Applied Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology and Pre-university Training in 1999. The scientific association is chaired by the head of the Department of Social and Pedagogical Psychology, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Tatjana Shatjuk, and her deputies are senior teachers Olga Markevich and Olga Korotkevich.

One of the offices of the Student Research Laboratory is a sensory room. This is a specially equipped room designed to affect all the senses and achieve relaxation, activation or development of the organs of perception. The room is equipped with a fiberoptic shower, a tunnel, a wall carpet “Starry Sky”, a set of blackout curtains “Planets”. The laboratory rooms are equipped with metaphorical maps, acrylic paints, canvases, a magnetic marker board, a vertical bubble panel, and a dry aquarium.

In the development of student science, it is impossible to overestimate the importance of a good material and technical base. Classical diagnostic tools combined with modern techniques and complexes allow to expand the range of scientific, practical and research activities, as well as to increase the level of scientific publications.

The opening of a new laboratory room is a significant contribution to the further development of student science at the university.
