Digital literacy is as important today as knowledge of spelling and syntax rules. Almost all aspects of our life are connected with computers, therefore it is a necessity to know the basics from the world of digital information technologies. To test digital literacy, students of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University took part in the All-Russian Dictation on Information Technologies educational campaign on September 12, 2020, timed to coincide with the Programmer's Day, which is celebrated on the 256th day of the year. A solemn celebration of the excellent students of IT dictation took place at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University On October 7, 2020. Sergei Zhogal, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Programming Technologies, spoke with warm words of gratitude and wishes for further success in mastering digital knowledge.
Oleg Isayenko, an employee of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Gomel, noted the importance of computer knowledge both in professional activity and in everyday life. 14 students scored more than 90 points, including both senior and freshmen. According to the results of "IT dictation" in 2020, the highest mark of 100 points was received by the student of the specialty "Software of information technologies" Vladimir Lizagub. The winners of the "IT dictation" were awarded with university diplomas and valuable books from the Russian Center for Science and Culture.
