Francisk Skorinа Gomel State University has many years of successful experience in conducting joint scientific research with colleagues from Nanjing University of Science and Technology (China) in the field of studying the electrodynamics of metamaterials and metasurfaces. Thus, in 2018-2019, scientific seminars with the participation of scientists from both countries were organized and conducted within the framework of joint scientific projects. In June 2018 at the Francisk Skorinа Gomel State University hosted a Belarusian-Chinese scientific and technical seminar, at which reports were made by project participants from two countries, abstracts were published. In May 2019, a Chinese-Belarusian scientific and technical seminar "Technologies for the formation of new materials and their application" was held at the Nanjing University of Science and Technology. In May 2019, the International Symposium on Micro-Optical Imaging and Photoelectric Information Technology was held at Jiangnan University (Wuxi, China). Among the results of cooperation are joint publications of project participants in scientific journals.

The next step of scientific cooperation was the publication of the monograph "Design of the Chiral Metamaterials", written by the Rector of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Sergei Khakhomov and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of our University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Igor Semchenko in collaboration with colleagues from the Nanjing University of Science and Technology Professors Lei Wang and Yaolian Song.

The monograph was published in the publishing company of Qinghua University (Beijing), which ranks first in the National Ranking of universities in China. Among the graduates of the university are prominent scientists, Nobel laureate, party and state leaders of the People's Republic of China, leading businessmen and directors of enterprises. The monograph provides an overview of the current state of research and technologies for the production of chiral metamaterials - artificial, pre-designed materials with exotic properties that are not found in natural objects. The topic is very relevant, since 2007 international scientific congresses devoted to the research of metamaterials have been held annually, in which scientists of our university take part.

The results of the work can be used in the calculations and creation of weakly reflecting absorbing screens based on spiral-structured metamaterials, in the creation of frequency and polarization-selective filters and polarization converters in the ultrahigh frequency, terahertz and far infrared ranges. The book is intended for scientific and engineering workers in the field of optics, radiophysics, biophysics, condensed matter physics, electronics, as well as for undergraduates and postgraduates of physical specialties.
