Linguistic support for intercultural communications - the first trophies

1st year students of the Faculty of History of the specialty “Language Maintenance of Intercultural Communication .International Tourism ”took part in the International Online Olympiad for students of higher educational institutions, organized by the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​of the Mari State University (Russian Federation) on the topic“ Countries of the European Union ”. The questions of the Olympiad were of a historical and cultural nature and designed to check the erudition of the students. The freshmen had to choose the correct answers from those offered on a designated topic, for example:

– Which country is called the "cradle of European civilization"?

– Why was the EU awarded the Nobel Prize?

 – Where is the headquarters of the Council of Europe?

– What country is called the "crossroads" of Europe?

 – Identify symbols of the countries of the European Union.

– How many official languages are there in the European Union?

– There is an image of a mermaid on the coat of arms of one of the European capitals. Name the country.

– Which French writer proposed the project for the creation of the United States of Europe?

– What color is the passport of an EU citizen?

 

We are glad of the first results of the guys and we are sure that this will stimulate them for further victories and achievements!

The department is preparing to participate in the first International round table on the topic “Historical and cultural heritage of the Republic of Belarus and the Chuvash Republic of the Russian Federation. The memory of culture is eternal”. The round table is organized jointly with the Chuvash State Pedagogical University named after I. Yakovlev (Chuvash Republic, Russian Federation). It will be held online on March 18. Gomel University will be represented by 1st year students of the specialties “Language Maintenance of Intercultural Communication”, Faculty of History, and" Russian Language and Literature. Foreign language (English) ", Faculty of Philology.
