The amazing holiday gathered more than 330 gifted and talented young men and women from all over the country in the Palace of Independence. The entrance ticket to the republican ball was success in studies, creativity, sports, and social life.

Among the invited were our students – Igor Sacukevich and Ivan Rizevskij (Faculty of Geology and Geography), Alena Konankova (Faculty of Biology), Nina Aldakushkina (Faculty of Philology).

Just imagine how, under the enchanting sounds of waltzes and polonaises performed by the orchestra, elegant ladies in evening dresses and gentlemen in tuxedos, tailcoats and uniforms swirled in a whirlwind of dance. Traditionally, the President took part in the event. During his speech, Aleksandr Lukashenko formulated the main message for young people:

- Belarus is behind you — a state in which decent living conditions have been created, for personal and professional development. This is your shield. And you should always carry it with honor, dignity, protecting it, because at the right time, in difficult times, this shield will protect you.

The Head of State wished the representatives of the new generation to leave a bright creative mark in the history of their country. The Belarusian leader stressed that our state is still very young, young. This means that it is important not only to preserve the established traditions, but also to create new ones. Aleksandr Lukashenko wished the representatives of the younger generation to be bold, bold and creative in a good way, but not to go over the edge.

As it should be in accordance with ballroom traditions, honored guests are also invited to the celebration. Among them are senior officials, whom we are used to seeing in strict business suits. Everyone, from the Belarusian leader to ministers and other officials, danced in a classical dance together with the youth. Guest performances of artists from Belarus and abroad became the decoration of the ball. The midnight quadrille completed the first part. The free program continued in a more relaxed atmosphere, young people remained in the hall to dance to more familiar modern compositions.

According to the established tradition, in memory of the celebration, participants were promised disks and flash drives with photos and videos of the New Year's ball. The holiday ended on a high note, the memories of it will remain in memory forever.
