2nd place at the International Student Olympiad in Physical Culture

The team of the student research laboratory “Start” of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Training (supervisor - senior lecturer Sergei Melnikov) took the 2nd place in the International Student Olympiad in Physical Culture at Orenburg State Pedagogical University (Russian Federation).

The Olympiad was attended by student teams of higher professional education and sports and vocational education of a physical culture profile from Russia and Belarus.

The team of GSU was represented by students of 3-4 courses of the Faculty of Physical Training: Ilya Glushak, Anna Fedosova, Praskovia Primachenko.

The Olympiad was held remotely in March-April 2022 in order to popularize physical education among young students and assumed the following tasks: identification and development of students’ intellectual, creative abilities and practical skills in the field of physical culture and sports; as well as the promotion of professional self-determination of students.

The Olympiad program included 3 tasks: assessment of theoretical readiness of students, conducting a theoretical lesson (mini-lectures) on physical culture “Olympic movement: history of development and current state”, conducting an extracurricular event on physical culture “Developing the body, tempering the spirit!”.

Ilya Glushak won the 2nd place in the nomination “Best Practitioner” for conducting the author’s relay race within the framework of the International Student Olympiad in Physical Culture.

Praskovya Primachenko took 3rd place in the nomination “Best theorist”.

According to the total points scored, the team of the Faculty of Physical Culture took the 2nd place. The team members were awarded with Diplomas, and the team leaders (Head of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Training, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Evgeny Osipenko and senior lecturer of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Training Ekaterina Kobets) were thanked for the high level of training of the team and the development of innovative sports and educational territory.
