About the issues of modern society in English

On April 15, 2022, the final of the All-Russian (with international participation) student competition of research projects with infographic elements took place.

 “Life in Society: trends, issues and challenges of the 21st Century”, organized by the Department of Foreign Languages No. 2 of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics (https://www.rea.ru/ru/org/cathedries/inyaz2kaf/Pages/subordinateunits.aspx ), which was attended by students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. The event was organized by teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages No. 2 Gorskina Natalia and Yarchak Ilona. The purpose of the competition is the formation and development of research skills for working with authentic academic texts.

The students' projects were devoted to the current social problems of modern society: family and its values, gender inequality, patriotic education of young people and a healthy lifestyle (The importance of the social environment. Alternative lifestyle. The influence of culture. Modern family today. Gender issues. Mass media and society. Cultural differences and changes. Business and society. Changing workplace).

Under the leadership of the Head of the Department of Theory and Practice of the English Language, Ph.D., Associate Professor I.A.Khorsun, the project of Yulia Dronova and Victoria Tagai ‘Business and Society’ was awarded the 1st place, and the project of Angelika Radkevich, Yulia Zhuravskaya, Vera Kovaleva ‘Modern Family” took the honorable the 3rd place.

We are proud of our winners and wish them to achieve their goals at all stages of their academic and scientific work!
