The traditional beginning of the new year for students of the Faculty of Physical Training was the holding of ski training camps at the educational and scientific base of our University "Chenki", where all the necessary conditions for learning skiing and teaching methods have been created.

It should be noted that in the current academic year, the university has purchased new modern equipment, and in the future it is planned to provide the educational process with roller skis for training in snow-free time.

In November 2021, an international creative essay contest "The Power of Thought – the Power of Words" was held on the basis of Pyatigorsk State University, which was organized within the framework of the project "The Russian language conquers the world space". What is the power of language and the power of the word? What gives a person knowledge of foreign languages? Why do many people in the modern world learn Russian? The contestants discussed these and other problems about language as a phenomenon, about foreign languages and about the Russian language in their essays.

On December 31 , an online meeting of the Board of the Confucius Institute at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. The agenda includes the approval of a candidate for the position of the second director of the IC from the Chinese side, a change in the composition of the Board, the issue of drafting and signing a new agreement, etc.

A solemn ceremony honoring athletes and coaches who became laureates of prizes and scholarships of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee took place on December 30. The wonderful tradition of summing up the main sports results of the year has been preserved in Gomel for five years.

n December 27-28, the Republican Olympic Training Center for Athletics hosted the open republican competitions "Christmas Starts", which were attended by the leaders of the Belarusian national team, who performed in sectors and on treadmills.

Students and graduates of the Faculty of Physical Training of GSU adequately represented the team of our region.

Denis Bliznec won the 150m race with a score of 16.62, and became the third in the 60-meter race.

A scientific work has been published in Italy, which examines the relationship between the Vatican and the USSR, as well as the situation of the Roman Catholic Church in the Soviet Union and in the post-Soviet states in 1978-2005 – during the pontificate of John Paul II – one of the most prominent Popes in the history of Christianity. This work is written in Italian, it was the result of scientific research conducted mainly by the Gregorian University (Rome), as well as scientists from around the world.

We all hear from childhood: Indeed, this is one of the main international holidays that unites all nations, the most beloved holiday of most adults and children, because on the night of December 31 to January 1, the most cherished dreams come true and real miracles happen! This holiday is eagerly, excitedly and joyfully awaited on different continents, in different countries and cities, regardless of age, social status, nationality and citizenship. A festive atmosphere reigns everywhere: in houses and on the streets, as well as at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University.

The amazing holiday gathered more than 330 gifted and talented young men and women from all over the country in the Palace of Independence. The entrance ticket to the republican ball was success in studies, creativity, sports, and social life.
