From November 14 to 21 in Polish (Gliwice), the first World Championship in short water swimming (25 m) among the Deflympians was held.

Representatives of 24 countries of the world took part in the tournament, and swimmers from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia, Germany and Poland became the best.

The honor of our country, as part of the national team of the Republic of Belarus, was worthily defended by Honored Masters of Sports of the Republic of Belarus, graduates of the Faculty of Physical Training of the F.Skorina Gomel State University.

November 24, by the Department of the History of Belarus of the Faculty of History and Intercultural Communications of the F.Skorina Gomel State University the International History Olympiad "World Wars in the History of Mankind" was held in on the eleventh time. 110 participants from 15 higher educational institutions of Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia took part in it. Students and citizens of Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan competed in the Olympiad. The event was held remotely using information and communication technologies.

On November 25, the tenth meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Serbian Commission on Scientific and Technical Cooperation took place in the format of a videoconference. The Chairmen were the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia Marijana Dukich-Mijatovich and Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Shherbakov.

On November 2, the 27th session of the Gomel Regional Council of Deputies took place, which was attended by the Rector of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, deputy of the Gomel Regional Council of Deputies Sergei Khakhomov.

One of the key issues on the agenda was the decision on monetary bonuses for athletes and their coaches for high achievements in prestigious sports competitions. Moral and material encouragement will be given to athletes who have won medals at the Olympic, Paralympic, Deflympic, European Games, as well as world and European champions.

From November 16 to 22, the European Youth Championship (under 24) was held in the Polish city in modern pentathlon.

The national team of the Republic of Belarus returned with medals. Ksenija Klimjankova and Maksim Maruk won gold in the mixed relay. The women's team, which became the vice-champion of the continent, rose to the second step of the podium. 

November 19, Faculty of Physical Training of the F. Skorina Gomel State University co-organized the XX Anniversary international scientific and practical conference "Improving the system of physical education, sports training, tourism, psychological support and rehabilitation of various categories of the population" (Surgut, Russia).

On November 19, the Faculty of Physical Culture of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University took part in a round table on the topic: "Modern problems of the development of physical culture, sports and tourism in the youth environment". The event was organized by the National Research Tomsk State University (Tomsk, Russia), and was held online.

From November 19 to 21, the Gomel Hockey Club stayed in Aalborg, Denmark. The rivals of the "lynx" in the semi-final tournament of the Continental Cup were the local "Aalborg", the British "Sheffield" and the Latvian "Olympus".

In the first match of the tournament, our hockey players managed to win over the Latvian "Olympus" with a score of 3:1. In the next match, the Gomel squad lost 2-5 to the local "Aalborg".

From November 18 to 19, "Business Days" were held in Gomel, which brought together the most active and far-sighted businessmen from 29 countries. Modern realities demonstrate the need to maintain and expand international contacts in the interests of scientific and educational centers, the business community, and the development of countries and regions. The participants discussed the use of online technologies, electronic platforms for the development and promotion of regions.

On November 18, the Faculty of Mathematics and Programming Technologies hosted a webinar "Web development. General concepts, technologies and directions" for 2nd year students. The webinar was conducted by the representative of the leading IT company of the Gomel region "IBA Gomel Development Center" - the head of the sector of the Internet technologies department Jurij Spektor.
