The Cup of the Republic of Belarus in judo was held from September 23 to 25 in the hall of game sports of the Olympic Sports Complex in Mogilev. More than 100 athletes took part in the competition, among them the strongest judoists from all regions of the country. According to the results of the final fights, the Gomel region, whose honor was defended by students of the Faculty of Physical Culture of our university, took second place in the team competition, losing to Minsk residents and leaving behind the national team from Vitebsk.

On September 23, a working meeting of the delegations of our university and Heze University (China) took place in an online format. In the format of a video message, the rector of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University Sergei Khakhomov. In his speech, he noted: "The University is proud of its long-term, friendly and partnership relations with educational and scientific institutions of the People's Republic of China. For many years of strategic partnership, hundreds of Chinese citizens have received bachelor's, master's and PhD degrees from our university.

From September 16 to 19, the World Rowing and Canoeing and Para canoe Championships were held on Lake Bagsvard in the Danish capital Copenhagen. Athletes from 56 countries of the world, including representatives of Belarus, participated in the competition.

On the eve of the celebration of the National Unity Day on September 17, the Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble hosted a round table "National Unity Day as a symbol of the consolidation of the Belarusian people" with the participation of the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natal'ja Kochanovaja and other senior officials, heads, representatives of organizations and institutions, public associations.

At the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, much attention is paid to building a constructive dialogue between students and the university management.

A special issue

Francisk Skarina Gomel State University became a participant of the Moscow International University Rating "Three University Missions" for the first time in 2021.

Rector of the Francisk Skarina Gomel State University Sergey Khakhomov in a dignified manner presented the diploma of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences to the graduate of the Yanka Kupala State State University Evgenijush Matuk.

On September 3, the First Games of the CIS countries started in the capital of Tatarstan. At the opening ceremony, held on the Alley of Flags, athletes from nine CIS countries – Azerbaijan, Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan paraded with national flags.

Just a week after the Olympic Games in Tokyo, on August 17, the opening ceremony of the World Junior Wrestling Championship was held in Ufa, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan. 1,500 athletes from 55 countries compete in the arenas of the multifunctional sports and concert complex "Ufa-Arena".
