A meeting of the August teachers' council was held in Rechitsa, which was attended by more than 700 employees of the educational sector of the Gomel region, as well as the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Igor Karpenko. The participants discussed the results of work and achievements for the reporting period, as well as identified the tasks for the 2020/2021 academic year.

The BisonRace obstacle race, in which athletes from Italy, Ukraine, Russia and Belarus took part, took place from 7 to 9 August at the Logoisk ski sports and recreation complex. About a thousand fans of extreme running tested themselves for strength and endurance, willpower and character. Bison Race is a mixture of trail running and crossfit.

In the football tournament 4 youth teams fought for the title of the winner, more than 60 people took part in the darts competition.

According to the results of the mini-championship on football, the first place was taken by the team "Eagle" of the hostel №2, foreign students of the combined team of the hostel №4 climbed to the second step of the podium, the young athletes of another team of the hostel №2 closed the top three.

In the year of the 90th anniversary of the University, we continue to talk about the life and professional path of the first directors of the Gomel Pedagogical Institute. The heroes of the next issue are Ivan Emelyanovich Lakin and Ivan Andreevich Alisievich.

At the next meeting of the admission committee of F. Skorina State University, the results of the enrollment of applicants for full-time and part-time studies on a payment basis were summed up. According to the executive secretary of the admissions committee Andrei Klimenko, 663 people were enrolled in the leading university in the region on payment terms. In the full-time form of study, the highest passing score was formed in the specialties "Jurisprudence" (290) and "History (domestic and general)" (255).

A group of graduates of the Faculty of Physical Education under the guidance of the teacher of the Department of Sports Disciplines Oleg Kanash made a sports trip of the 2nd category of complexity to the Carpathians. Tourists conquered the highest mountain in Ukraine - the top of Hoverla (2061 m) and raised the flag of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University over it.

Igor Valentinovich Semchenko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Skorina GSU, gave an interview to the Gomel TV and radio company about the course of the admissions campaign in 2020. Igor Valentinovich spoke about new specialties at the university, the competition and passing scores, as well as the opening prospects for graduates of our university. According to the rating of world universities Webometrics, published in July this year, Francisk Skorina Gomel State University became the fourth among the best universities in Belarus.

Students, teachers and staff of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University declare their support for the possibility of expressing and defending different points of view within the legal framework of the Republic of Belarus on the path of the country's development in order to prevent the escalation of the conflict in the cities of Belarus and destabilization the situation in the country.

Last Friday, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko, Minister of Education Igor Karpenko, Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Turchin, and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union Dmitry Voronyuk talked to the participants of the republican sports and educational forum for working youth "Olympia".

This small village in the Zhlobin region has a rich history. One of the most beautiful palace and park complexes in Belarus is located in Krasny Bereg, perfectly preserved to this day. The manor house was built in the eclectic style in 1890-1893. In the palace interiors recreated by restorers, each of the 36 rooms is made in a different style. The staff of the museum, which is now located in the estate, conducted an excursion for the students.
