Students and postgraduates from China and Congo studying at the Faculty of Ecnomics of our university accompanied by the senior lecturer of the Department of Economic Informatics, Accounting and Commerce Natalia Bartashevich visited the confectionary factory “Spartak”. The products of this enterprise are well-known not only in the Republic of Belarus but also far beyond its borders, including the Chinese market. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the factory showcasing impressive levels of technology and product equipment.

A meeting with foreign students was held at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University where representatives from the Citizenship and Migration Departments of the Central and Zheleznodorozhny districts of Gomel Julia Kirillova and Natalia Avchinnikova, as well as Oleg Sinyakov from the Gomel Border Group were present.

On April 11, a delegation of the Alliance of Economic and Commercial Advisors of China led by the organization’s chairman Zhu Yan Ci visited the university. The guests met with the First Vice-Rector Andrey Kruk, toured the laboratories of the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies, and visited the Confucius Institute. During the meeting the prospects for promoting Belarussian educational services in Asian countries were discussed.

On April 10, 2024, the Faculty of Law hosted meetings of second and third year students with Nikita Alexandrovich Kolokolov, Head of the Department of Judicial and Prosecutorial Investigative Activities of the A.S. Griboyedov Moscow University, Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Education of the Moscow Pedagogical State University, Doctor of Law, Professor.

State distribution took place at Gomel State University named after Francis Skaryna. The college years are coming to an end for many students. Ahead lies the first job, interesting acquaintances, new impressions. In 2024, 776 graduates will receive diplomas. In just two months, trained specialists will undergo final state certification and leave the walls of their home university in a new status.

On April 11, the world celebrates the International Day of the Liberation of Prisoners of Nazi Concentration Camps. It was installed in memory of the international uprising in Buchenwald. It was on this day in 1945 in World War II that Buchenwald prisoners, led by the international political center, launched an armed uprising, as a result of which they captured the camp and held it until the arrival of the Allied forces.

On the basis of the Gomel Experimental Forestry Enterprise, a student team of students from the Faculty of Biology of the Francysk Skorina State University has begun work! The guys are engaged in a noble cause, helping to increase forest areas and preserve the environment. Planting forests has enormous environmental potential and long-term benefits for our planet!

On April 10, the rector of the Gomel State University named after F. Skorina Sergei Khakhomov took part in a meeting of the presidium of the Republican Council of University Rectors.

Weather days in April are the most convenient period for excursions and various types of travel. Students who came to us on the academic exchange program from Kazan, Gzhel and Saransk are also preparing to visit some of our picturesque places and noteworthy monuments, but they have already managed to visit some of them on their own.

Violetta Beloded, a teacher of Chinese language and graduate student of the Department of Russian, General and Slavic Linguistics completed an internship in Shanghai and visited the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.

The main objectives of the trip were to enhance her scientific and pedagogical qualifications in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, conduct research in gender linguistics, improve skills in oral foreign language communication that are necessary for research and teaching Chinese language.
